Hello all this is my first post.
Last year I purchased a 2013 SHO non PP. Last few times I've cleaned the interior I pretty much just use microfiber towels and armor all on all non shiny surfaces. On those I basically just dusted them off.
Ok so heres my question, last time I cleaned the interior the sun hit the IP (where all of the HVAC and radio controls are) and I noticed many light scratches on it that I've never noticed before, has anyone else had this issue and had any luck removing them? The panel appears to be a piano black color and has a glass like finish and I'd like to restore it back to a non hazy scratch free surface if its even possible. Now that I've noticed the fine scratches it's driving me nuts!
I suspect from the previous owner this is where they came from due to the way I just dust it off, but also did I do something wrong?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

If the scratches are quite fine and don't catch a fingernail, you may have good luck using PlastiX scratch remover. I think that's a Meguiar's product - I don't have the bottle in front of me. I've tried Griot's Garage plastic polish and actually had better luck with the PlastiX.

If you have deeper scratches, or the above doesn't work to your satisfaction, you're probably left with removing the trim and using a DA with a foam pad and plastic polish to get it looking like glass again.

I use clean microfiber clothes on mine every time I wash the car and still end up with the fine little scratches. But I'm a bit compulsive on "dusting" the panels with my hands when driving the car as well, and that's probably where my scratches come from.

I personally keep a swifter in my glove box just to remove the dust in between full out cleanings. As for the IP stack/center con, I would think a good brand plastic specific polish might help. I've used Plexus polish on my motorcycle windscreens for years and it's specifically formulated for plastics. I don't know if it will fully remove "light" scratches but I imagine it would help with any kind of swirl marks and such. Also, only use microfiber cloths to clean the dash and such as they're not likely to cause future problems.

On a side note I would personally love to swap out my stack covers and console with ones from a '14 as they changed them all to a matte finish that doesn't show the finger prints or scratches at all. Plus you don't get the sometimes problematic sun glare off of them.

Hey all thanks for the replies...I used that novus scratch removal 3 step process on all of the shinier finished panels and well to say the least 99.9% of the scratching came out (or filled in?) and now it has that nice glass finish to it. Plus the last step of the Novus is anti static so having to dust it constantly now seems to be less(as it has yet to dust over since I finished it three or so days ago) . I'm not a salesperson but this stuff did work pretty good for the issue I was having and would recommend it to anyone else with the similar issue.
