FWIW you should be able to change solenoids without dropping the tranny.

Correct. However, you will likely have to drop the subframe so you can take the side pan off. Space is SEVERELY restricted in there.

Yeah, I can tell you have to pull the tranny mount and lower that side of the engine and it is doable.. I am just stuck as I don't have any way to support the engine other than my engine hoist,and I am nervous about using Hydraulics and looking at my retail work schedule, I don't have a solid couple of days to devote to this task.

I just have to get it to someplace I can loosen the subframe and stuff with some help and be able to do this quickly. Time is my enemy on this.
One of the guys in the club has the rotunda ford tranny tester, but it didn't have the correct ends for this transmission - Anyone know if they were supposed to be in the kits and the seller just forgot to send them, or if they were an update to the kit? It had round plugs instead of the 3/4rout & elipse for the mtb..

I use 4 jack stands and one jack to do that stuff with my car. Support the car at the sub frame floor rails and support the subframe on the side you aren't dropping. Use the jack on the subframe where it is being lowered. Keep the subframe bolts on the side with the jack stands tight. On the other side support with the jack then lower away. Might have to take the steering shaft off from inside the car too.
