help! possible clutch/crank issue 92 sho

So, earlier today I turned on the car and tried to go reverse, when i did that i heard a loud pop coming from the front. Soon afterward i could no longer go backward and it felt like I was running on mud or just stuck in a hole. So i tried going forward in first and the same thing, would drive about a foot and then suddenly stop as if I was in a hole and was trying to force my way out. I overshot it one time and killed it. Took me about 15 minutes to get it to a parking spot (after much sitting and trying). After i got out it started to smell as if something was burning but nothing was leaking from what i could tell underneath. Any suggestions on what it might be? Is my clutch shot or is it something else? Its a 92 sho with about 115000 on it. Had no precursor to this happening before that, it worked just fine this morning when driven.

Any unusual noises?
If not, my money's on the clutch disc.

nothing that i know of. again i havent had any problems with it until now. no noises i tried to force it thinking i was just on some mud (since its rained all day here) and it went about a foot and died instantly. so i just had to keep going back and forth a foot until finally i could move it another 5 feet to park it. ill try it later see but im bettin money on the clutch as well.

Yeah, I think it's the clutch too.

Mine did that way back when..............
