help! please?

:shrug::shrug:so i just got done putting atranny in my 93 mtx car. now when i push the clutch in the wheels turn and i cant shift it untill i let the clutch out again. the tranny shifts fine as long as the pedal is released. any ideas?

thats what i was thinking but everyone at work{im a mechanic} says there is no way to put it in backwards. it looked to me that the hat on the disc was almost as flat as the other side so i could see that but i just dont know anymore.

Other people have put in backwards. You're not the first one to do it. Don't feel too bad, everyone does it once it seems.

the worst part is i paid some kid to do it since i dont have a lot of time to do that kind of stuff on my own car. so we are pretty sure thats the problem though huh? ive never had this issue on any of my other shos.

subframe bolts are tight. the kid says he put it in the same way the old one came out and blames the tranny. although the car moved fine before that. well aside from the diff pin catching anyway

ok so im taking the whole day tomorrow to swap the clutch around. anyone know any shortcuts so i dont have to tear the whole car down again?

Support the engine from above (either with a commercial device designed for the task, or a few hefty pieces of 4"x4" lumber), drop the subframe, and then pull the transmission off the engine.
