Hey everyone, I just bought a brand new DXD stage one clutch. I put the car back together and now it wont drive. It drove into the shop with a bad pressure plate and ever since I installed the new DXD clutch and pressure plate it WILL NOT MOVE. You can let the clutch all the way out and the car will just shutter. Some times its violent, other times only the pedal shutters. I had a friend of mine whos a mechanic put it together. So im almost positive it was done right. I forgot to put ATF in so i did and still wont drive. Please any help would be appreciated. My friends dad who is a master Porsche mechanic thinks the pressure plate is bad.

I've done it. Sucks, but it sounds like the disk is backwards. The good news is...Your mechanic friend should be responsible. Weather you paid him or not, he should at least help you.

you can put a clutch backwards?

Yes the clutch disc should be stamped with "Engine Side"

Yeah, I'd bet the disk is backwards as well. At least I don't feel quite so dumb knowing others have done it too

I would think people would triple check things like this. But then again, if you don't know there is a "clutch side" to the disc...you wouldn't check for it...
