Any suggestions on how to remove the front screws that hold the the moonroof in place. Did a search and found all the infro on taking it out and etc but just having a **** of a time getting the two remaining screws out. One screw is so bad that I will have to use a screw extractor or something. I can barely get a pair of needle nose vice grips in there but still can't loosen the screw. And used a lot of penetrating oil too. Is there a way to remove the whole thing and work on it at a bench? All I wanted to do is replace the seal that I got from the sunroof doctor.

I went through the same ordeal about 3 months ago. for some reason my two front screws wouldn't come out either no matter how hard I tried. I ended up drilling them out very carefully through the inside of the car and then replaced them with better screws.

but yes after you take the final screws off the entire glass piece comes off then you can work on it at your bench.

and make sure your very careful with the glue they give you from there. it can get everywhere if your not careful with it.

thanks for the reply. I guess I am on the right trail. Just thought someone might have an easier way. Yep, already got newer screws ready to go back in.

Well, had to drill out the last two screws. The screws were so tight that the screws broke in half with an easy out. So just drill them out and retapped the holes. Now I not bashing any ones product but I sure had a **** of a time getting the Sunroofs seal on with out any kinks around the curves of the moonroof. 70.00 bucks down the drain. I was so unhappy with the results and looks, that I just reglued the old seal back on. I will just buy a new one from Ford. May pay more but it will be the right type of seal. Sorry just had a bad day.

I had good luck with the sunroofdoctor seal.
Hard to say what went wrong. All I know is, it is a lot quieter now.
I think I left extra on the corners and pushed it in at the very end.

yeah I was doing something wrong. I think I was getting frustrated trying to get the screws out and wanted to get the seal on. Suppose to rain tomorrow and I just might have gotten too big of a hurry.

patience is key. I put my seal on slow and methodically. although I still messed up at the end but thats just me being me. I did like the product from sunroof doctor though.
