Help me.....tranny problems!!!

HELP ME !! I was driving down the highway at about 65 mph in 5th gear. All of a sudden it felt like I ran over something, then my tranny started grinding and making wierd noises for about 5 - 10 seconds, and then it stopped. I didn't lose any power or anything. But my clutch did feel extremely different when I pushed it in. It used to be kind of hard to push in, and now it feels like nothing. When I went to go park it I found out that I don't have reverse anymore. Also when I put it in gear and start to drive at very low rpms it sounds like something is swirling around and grinding a little bit, but it is really quiet and hard to hear. First of all does anyone know what might be going on? Secondly if my tranny is gone where can I find a GOOD replacement or even a refreshener kit like the one SHO SHOP offers? All opinions are welcomes, thanks guys.

I would suspect clutch failure, possibly a strap or two broke or else the pressure fingers gave out.

As the tranny has to be pulled for either repair, disassembly will be needed.

Someone who has experienced your type of failure will hopefully chime in with their experiences.

A piece of your clutch disc might have come off. I think the only way to find out what the problem is, is remove the tranny . Hopefully it is clutch related. If you can do the work yourself I have a clutch/pressure plate that is about 1/2 worn that i could hook you up with.

Go to SHOnutperformance.com. Does your car make that swirling noise when sitting at idle? what about with the clutch pushed in?

this happend too me 3 times, just driving and bang sounds like i hit something. Make shore there is no fluid leakig because everytime it happend too me it was my differental cracking open and i had too replace my tranny every time
