I am in the middle of the 60k process. I have the upper timing belt cover off, accessory belts, idler pulleys, intake, valve covers, battery all off.

I am going by the instructions in the Ford shop manual and my next step is taking off the bolt on the crank so I can remove lower and mid timing belt covers and water pump.

Problem is I have tried air ratchet with 110psi of pressure, manually with 1/2 drive ratchet while car is in gear and brakes are on. Neither approach budged the bolt.

From the looks of it I don't want to use heat on it since there is a rubber seal.

Can I use the starter and a breaker bar to loosen the bolt?? (Keep in mind I have intake, valve covers, and all accessory belts off).

If not how do I get this damn thing loose? cuss

If you do that put the valve covers on gently to prevent any oil from shooting everywhere.

Using the starter method will not do any harm.

I used it a few days ago with EVERYTHING apart eek! :D

Oilpan, timing covers, CPS, timing belt, etc... etc...

Just use the starter method. It works thumb

I wish I had done it before trying to remove that damn bolt using other methods headbang cuss
