Ok,
Got a customers car here that was just brought in the other day. Finally had a chance to look at it today and here's what I know.
The customer decided to put in a used motor himself. The car is a 93 and the donor motor came from a 93. Customer used the same wiring harness that was in the car. Both 3.0L motors. He hooked up everything and the car got no spark, so he called AAA and had it towed here.
Car has fuel pressure, no spark. I started with the coil pack. I removed the coil pack and 3 & 4 has a severe crack on the bottom of the coil. I replaced the coil pack and checked for spark, still had nothing. I noticed a bit of smoke coming from the coil pack area. I removed the coil pack and noticed that some sort of white substance was melting out from underneath the coil pack @ Cyl 3 & 4 again.
It appears that something is shorting out Cyl 3 & 4 in the coil pack. Anyone have any clues/suggestions?
