Hello! Hoping someone can help, as sct won't take anymore calls this evening. I came home this afternoon for a short period of time, parked my car. 20 min later I go outside to start it and it doesn't start ......all my lights work on the dash and the car acts like it's turned on(move through all gears) but the engine itself isn't on nor did the car attempt to turn on. Tried unplugging the battery for a few min but that didn't help. Thats when I tried to reload the current tune file on the car (gearhead...2010 car) and I got a 110d8 code and right after that the dash went dark.
When I attempt to start the car now, it flashes the battery, oil, wrench and coolant light..."blind side system check" also reads out along with a few other things.
I'm not sure what to do in this case. My battery is no more than 2.5 years old so I wouldn't suspect that being the issue?
Hopefully someone can lead me in the right direction before having to call sct.
Thanks!

TBH, the worst thing to do was to try to tune it in that condition. Hopefully, you didn't "brick" the PCM.

Check the battery voltage. Should be at least 12.3 if it's charged up. At 100% charge, it should be 12.6 volts.

Do your brake lights work? If not, there's a chance that the PCM doesn't know you're pressing the brake so it goes to accessory mode.

I realized that it wasn't the smartest decision after I made it, but thought maybe reloading a tune would "refresh" it shall we say. I am worried, but slightly positive it may have bricked up the pcm which is a huge bummer. Than again, I could be wrong.
The car registers that the brakes are being applied, I don't get the accessory mode unless brake is not applied while turning 'on'

Battery is in check to. All my tunes are still on the device itself. It just baffles me that I was just driving the car with no issue, than 20 min later without any changes done, it doesn't start...or even seem to attempt at that. Haven't had my device plugged into the car for over 3 weeks so it doesn't seem like it would be tune related?
I've read up, some people need to send there device into SCT and others it would randomly work all of a sudden but I don't want to make a bigger mess by playing the guessing game too much

Do you leave the SCT device plugged in? If so, did you try unplugging it? If something hangs the CAN bus, weird things happen. ;)

Did you try disconnecting the battery again after the failed tune load?

No, I don't have the sct plugged in nor did I prior to the incident. I plugged it in after to try and reload the current tune, and that's when the car gave me the code.
I did try disconnecting the battery both positive and negative for a short few minutes and nothing helped there.

Guess we'll wait for someone else to chime in with more ideas, I'm out of them. Is it under warranty? Good thing is, if you bricked it and act completely innocent, they can't tell what happened ;)

First have to verify the condition of the battery. Voltage, but more importantly CCAs. Assume you checked cabling and terminals since you had the neg terminal disconnected.

It is possible that the key fob has a dead/dying battery or the electronics have given up the ghost.

Lots of odd things happen when electronics do not have the right amount of power/voltage.

The tune reload does add a monkey wrench to the works, but check the items above first.

Update:
After testing battery all checked out ok there. However I believe I was stuck in a reflash and that's why the instruments were going wild on the dashboard. I went out and bought a new battery just to be sure I had enough juice to revert back to stock tune ....loading the stock tune file was success with new battery and after that I wasn't getting any lights flashing or dings from the instruments. However, with the new battery still in the car would not start. I tried smacking the starter prior to all of this with no luck...went back and gave it a few more aggressive smacks and well what do you know, the car started right up.

So I think the starter is the root to my issue, but trying to reload my tune didn't help any. I did notice a loose post on the starter which definitely tells me something too.

Anyway, thanks for all the input and I couldn't be happier to be back on the road ..free of charge!.....until I purchase a new starter however it did start up just fine 10+ times

This is a strange story. But yeah, when diagnosing, start small. Also, don't whack things. You can push the car back and forth an inch in Drive if you suspect the starter is stuck. I also have a 2010 with similar miles on it. 130k. Going to get the PTU fluid done at the next oil change in a few days. I worry about that part of the drivetrain than anything else, though no problems, it makes clunky noises about once a month. I don't trust Ford's first year of any vehicle but got this one for a song.
