hey there i am new @ shoforum and i have a few questions for you guys! I'm a huge sho nut i have a red 93 mtx and a silver 89 (obviously an mtx also). i store my 93 for the winter but last fall i was having problems with it heating up and i found out that my fan is not coming on.....i checked all the relays and fuses...still nothing! i ran down the wiring but i can't find anything....my next step is to replace the fan motor, but i don't want this to be a nickel and dime thing and then find out that it was an easy fix...if anyone has any suggestion i would love to hear them.......one other thing...where exactly is the iac on the throttle body? i think that mine needs cleaning, when i first start it, it jumps between 800-1500 rpms....i would really appreciate your guys help...thx

Search forum under "cooling fan" for pertinent info. I am using a flex-a-lite switch to get mine to come on. It's probably not the fan, but you need to check it. Does the fan come on when you turn the A/C on?

Sounds like a bad ECT to me. If you're standing at the drivers side it's below and to the right of the tstat. 1" round brass lookin thing with a 2(?) wire plug going into it.

When I was checking my fans out prior to getting the flex-a-lite switch, I probed pin 14 going to the CCRM with a test light--with the key on, of course. When I did , the fans came on. Grounding pin 14 with the key on will tell you if your fans work or not.

ccrm=constant control relay module (sometimes also referred to as the IRCM). It's in the driver's side front of the engine bay under the plastic guard. It's a black box approximately 4"x4" laying horizontally with an electrical plug going into it.

i tried grounding that pin 14 but i got nothing....so i took out my entire fan and housing and put it on my 89 and it comes on perfectly....i was noticing that in my 93 my ccrm says J and in my 89 it says M...know correct me if i'm wrong, but does'nt all mtx's have a M ccrm? anyways, i put my 89's ccrm on my 93 and still nothing....anymore help? maybe i'm not ground that pin correctly, how exactly did you do it? i tried a test light but got nothing, so i thought maybe you had some special technique....
