Perform in order shown.

1. Delete your duplicate post.

2. Go to AutoZone and get the cooling system pressure tester # AZ9300 for a $90 refundable deposit. Presure test the system and verify there are no leaks. If there are leaks, repair them as needed. Return tester for your deposit.

3. Reinstall the radiator cap and start the engine. As it warms up, feel the two coolant lines that provide the heater core with coolant flow. They should both warm up at near the same rate as the engine. If one warms up and the other doesn't or if there is a large temperature difference, the core is probably clogged. If that is the case, it will need to be backflushed.

one simple way to see if the heater core is leaking or not is turn your heater on high and see if a film developes on the inside of the windshield. if it was leaking you would be able to smell anti-freeze inside the car.

This same symptom can be caused by leaking hose connections at the firewall. Do not rely on this test as a definitve troubleshooting procedure.
