One of the worst of all projects you could undertake on a SHO... :(

Try a search under 'heater core', people who have done it have posted their experiences and tips on how to mitigate some of the difficulties.

A friend of mine started friday afternoon. Worked till dark. Saturday worked most of the day, again till dark. Sunday worked all day. Got a ride to work monday and then back at it monday afternoon. Worked the whole night, this time with SHO91MTX 6am comes along and gets a ride to work. They finally finished tuesday afternoon. So YEAH not something I would want to get into. BTW that friend has had VERY minimal car repair experience. He just wanted to save the money by doing himself.

I've done a lot of things on my SHO (clutch, CPS, exhaust, ....)but I do not mess with the AC system nor the heater core. I had a local shop put in a heater core for $550 and was very happy.

My first time took two weeks including kicking the beast several times.

I had to re-do it last fall, only took about 10 hours which included swapping out the cracked and nasty dash shell.

I could do mine again it 6-7, since I left half the bolts, nuts, and screws out. :p

I have a 93 with 110k miles when my heater core went out. I actually found a shop that would replace it for $250. After reading other posts about heater cores i figured i did not want to tackle it myself. After i got the car back, i was totally satisfied. No rattles.
