I am in the middle of replacing my heater core in my 89 SHO. I have everything taken apart and almost ready to remove the heater core, but there is something holding up the bottom of the assembly. I have undone the A/C hoses and such and I am lost. Is there some phantom nut or bolt that I am missing? I am trying to get this done tonight, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

i think the bolt that holds the dryer to the firewall is also one of the bolts that holds the heater box in (you have to take off a nut to get the dryer off, and then take another nut off to get the box out)

two bolts on the bottom, on the engine side of the wall. Only one up top. And the vent that runs under the center console is held onto the assembly by two itsy bitsy bolts.

Best of luck.

Check out the How do I section of this forum. That may help you out, there is a great article there about that.

There are a total of three bolts holding the box to the firewall. There is a GREAT article around the forum somewhere.
