Well it's cold I want some heat.... what's a quick method of changing my '92 heater core..... I read on the "taurusclub.com" that you can just remove the glove box door, bottom panel etc. & "saw" the heater/ac box in half to get to the leaky core. The poster wrote he had done this 3 times with no problems. Has any one tried this method? Supposedly it takes only 4 hours.

I just did a heater core yesterday. Unbolt the dash, and pull it back and up (use a strap to hold it up. It won't go up as much on the driver side, but it doesn't matter. Then you can pull the whole box out.

I dragged my ass and wasted a ton of time, and it took me 5 hours, having never done it before. I could probably do it in under 3 a second time. Do your BDA at the same time, or do what I did and screw the door into the heat position, so it can't move.

That is probably a poor choice for a guy in Las Vegas.

Ha! Good point. Works for me up in Canada, car doesn't have A/C anyway.

Probably a good idea to fork out the $20 for a new BDA if you live somewhere not Canadian.
