Did a search and didn't seem to find anything that's pertinant to my problem. Brief history with current problem.

Alternator went, replaced Alt and Battery. AC stopped working at end of summer. Plug did not slip out of AC. Other than checking that I never tried to troubleshoot but set on 60 clutch did not engage but could adjust heat level in winter. Turned car off one night last week, went to go somewhere next day, hit auto so heat would turn on when car warmed up. Windows started to fog so turned it onto defrost, turned heat all the way up, and fan wheel to hi. I get no blower motor no matter what position switch is on.
...................
No forced air at all. Getting heat coming up the defrost which defrosted a very small part of the windshield.

Took eatc out, turned it to different settings, vacuum part works as it switches for the different settings.

I'm thinking, get wiring diagram for wires going to eatc, jump for heater fan settings, see if fan works. Take fan out, hook it up to a power source, see if fan works.

If it is eatc I'm going to go for a 95 since it would need replaced anyway.

fuse or the fan control board are the most likely candidates to be bad, I think.

Ok got something strange to add.

Went out and started car without one of the plugs connected to the eatc (one on the right). To my suprise the blower was blowing. All functions working. Then I plug the other plug in. I check the outside temp, and it's reading negative. I figured ok it just needs reset. I shut car off, it's off about ten minutes, then start it up. It's still reading negative temp for outside temp.

So thinking combination of eatc and controller? Where is the blower controller located? I seen what looked like it would be the resister under the dash below the glove box.

I'm assuming it's not where you're at?, but if you were here it might be the correct reading, it's below zero out here.

Blower control module seems to be the most common on these things, but not sure if it is the cause of this problem. I have had the same prob on my '93, but havn't checked into it yet. Cut out 2 diff times last winter, but only for a short trip with a couple of stops on each trip on 2 completely diff days about 2 months apart and worked fine all the rest of the time. Couldn't do anything to make it come on, but a day or two later when car was driven next, it was fine.

lol wasn't below zero here. Next day it showed the right temp. I'll have to do some research to find out where the controller is. I'll search forums too but first I need sleep... I would probably have to repeat the search after some sleep.

I think the SHO's just like to keep us on our toes

Change the blower motor anyways, it is easy, as it is right under the glove box door.
Sometimes the armature develops a "bad spot" and if the brushes stop on it, it takes some luck to move it off. Also the brushes could be totally wore down and every now and again they break contact with the armature, and if so, it will only get worse.

The dash does not come off for a blower swap! Just take off the glove box door and do it the easy way.I have done this several times and takes me less than 30 mins to do the swap!
