Back in Michigan ... again.
Ok, I've got a slightly melted harness right now. It still plugs into the switch ok, but the brown wire in the center has also melted a bit, causing the lights to not work. This was the result of a previously-bad headlight switch which I've already replaced.

I have a replacement harness that's a-ok, but I don't really want to snip, strip and reconnect every single wire for the harness when I only have one bad wire. I haven't experimented with it much, but can the wires be removed from harness or are they soldered in there? I'd like to just replace the damaged brown wire and continue using my slightly-melted-but-otherwise-ok harness if possible.

TIA :thumb:

When I repaired the same thing in my thread (linked) - upon examination of the old harness it looked like each wire is clipped into the harness, with a tab. It might be possible to change just one wire.

I however felt much better putting the new harness in, especially because the wires were of a higher gauge.

I replaced the entire harness for the same reason SHOtimer did. Added peace of mind.
