How does he know that the HG is leaking? This is a very rare problem... I have a feeling it's something else...

I think they're blowing some smoke at you.

The only "test" I can think of is wiping your finger or a rag around the engine, to see where the oil is coming from.

I'm no pro, though....

I'd bet it's either the cam seals, crank seal, or valve cover gaskets.

I HIGHLY doubt it's the head gasket. nono

Is your car overheating, running poorly, using oil or coolant? Did you take it to someone who knows SHOs? As the previous posters have posted, HG are sort of rare, unless the car overheated. But the other seals are much more common. Maybe they meant something else? Go out to your car and look at the engine for external oil leaks. Also look inside the spark plug wells, where the spark plugs are attached to the engine. Look for oil pooled up in there. Hope you find the problem.

Many ways of finding out if its a head gasket

I know quite a bit about head gaskets and i have HEARD its fairly rare for one to go out on the sho`s although it can happen.I quick way to find out is to purchase a test kit at a local parts store. They way it works is by adding a color fluid to that tube and it seals where radiator cap would nomally go.That reads your gases coming out of radiator and if you have a combustion leak in engine the fluid will turna cretain color.I have found this is easiest way to cheak for gasket leak.Obviously you can also do a compression test at the cylinders.Hope that helps you.

I am thinking this is not a head gasket issue. Either find the leak or find another person to work on the car!!!

does your car usually run quite hot? You may have warped it, that is the only reason i could see it happening.
