I decided to make some serious changes to my audio system. I replaced my factory headunit with an alpine 7863, some pioneer 2 ways up, some polk 3 way 6x9's in the back, and 2 10" MTX subs. I traded my friend my bandpass with 2 12" polk subs. I've got a more current but still somewhat low end of the spectrum alpine 300 watt mono V12 amp. I don't think the amp was quite powerful enough to give the 12's all they could. My current project is to cut out a rectangular portion of the rear deck lid and install a custom deck lid made from MDF. I really think I've been watching too much monster garage! My current tools are having problems cutting out the decklid. My electric jigsaw with a metal cutting blade has worked somewhat, but won't reach to cut the part closest to the glass. What kind of tool is portable but powerful enough to tear up the rear deck. I'm thinking of some sort of cutting wheel. I've got a dremel and bought some wheels designed for metal, but the wheels get eaten down too fast to be worth the money. I probably need $25 worth of cutting disks to get the job done. Has anybody done something similar or am I really on crack?
