About 10 things come to mind to check. First check tire wear and pressure. make sure they are in spec. Next guess, if it is brake related and not awd/traction control, collapsed rubber hose, sticking caliper piston or slider pin(s). Brake fluid occlusion or air somewhere in the lines. Contaminated brake rotor or pad surface like auto fluids or grease. Look at steering/suspension for issues like bushings, links etc

Tires and hoses are easy enough to inspect. is it worse when you apply more force to the pedal or does it level out? if its squirly under light/regular braking but stable under heavy/emergency braking I'd guess your issue is in the brakes at the wheel, either a sticking caliper, collapsed hose, severely warped rotor. If its an issue with any pressure could be tires or something in the ABS system. any lights on the dash?

I agree with all above... see if a wheel is smoking at a stop - caliper hanging up
