I'm running into all kinds of problems...engine revving on its own, cutting off while sitting, rough idle, hesistating, loss off of power. it does these things on and off. I tried to run codes and got nothing. I even took it to the dealership and they got no codes or vaccum leaks. What could it be? and how do you know when injectors are going bad?

I see in your sig that you have a 80mm Maf and a LPM. Have you tried going back to stock to see if that would help?

i had same problem back in the spring..never found out what it was, i sold the car...i wonder if the new owner figured it out...anyway...engine revving when, at idle? or at steady throttle, say when your driving around? that could be the IAB sensor/valve, which is it i dont remember, but have you cleaned that?

cutting off while siting, loss of power, rough idle, could that be the crank and cam sensors? have you recently done a new water pump cause the old one failed? or have you ever replaced those sensors at all? how many miles on car, etc...

and can you run the codes for yourself? theres a good procedure on shotimes.com, then run the cyl. balance test...it cuts the injectors off, one at a time, to detect an expected drop in rpm...no drop, it says cyl is weak...mostly people would think that you would have worse compression in that cyl. but it could be that the injector is not performing, or the spark plug / wire / all that is bad/ or that the injector is not getting its pulse from the computer...so try and do the cyl balance test, if any come up weak, first test for spark in that cyl, then test compression in that cyl and at least 2 of the others, i can understand skipping the back bank if you dont want to rip the intake off to check compression...i guess ideally you should check all 6...as long as theyre within 10% of each other...after that, its gotta be your injectors...or the computer not sending the injector a pulse...i thought it was extremely rare for injectors to go bad...i had a car with 239 k miles, sent my original injectors to be flow & bench tested and cleaned, all that fun stuff, turns out they were all working wonderfully before the cleaning, i didn't need to get that done..and they were the stock ones, all 239k miles on them...hmm don't know

bottom line, we need more info? can you run the codes for yourself, and what kind of stuff have you done to the car recently...any little things youve noticed but not really cared about, i dunno...just, more info!

I just had the cam and crank sensors replaced about 2 months ago, along w/the timing belt. I also replaced the plugs then too. I may need to change out the Autolite plug wires..I haven't tried putting on the old maf yet, simply cause i have to find it in my storage. I was considering replacing it w/a pro-M 77mm. The engine has a little over 110k miles.

Sounds like a vacuum leak and/or a malfunctioning idle air bypass (IAB) valve. When the electrical portion of the IAB valve fails, cleaning the valve portion will have no effect. Remove the CANP vacuum line from the top of the throttle body and plug the hole at the TB with your finger. That ilne can be a hidden source of a vacuum leak.

A bad connection at an LPM could also create some of these symptoms.

I intial thought it was leak too, but could not find it. I will definetly check those and clean the IAB....I checked the connection at the ecm and lpm...even switched the ecm. If the IAB has failed where can i get a new one for a good price?
