Went to the dealership for a 40,000 miles service and the tech didnt tighten up the lug nuts and while I was driving away from the dealership the wheel fell off.... So ******!!! At the point where I want to sue the dealership since now my car will be worthless since this will show on the carfax...

Were you able to see the pictures? When the wheel came of it hit another car in front of my car. Thankfully there was a cop behind me so he saw the whole thing.

What a terrible thing to happen! One thing to have an accident, another to have sheer incompetence shoved in your face. Have you been happy with this dealership otherwise, or is this your first visit?

It was my first time at this particular dealership. I just recently moved to CT and needed to get the 40k miles service done so I went here.

Wow, did he even put the lug nuts back on? That's crazy, so glad you wasn't one the freeway!

I don't like suggesting lawsuit, but if that happened to me... I would tell the dealer he had two choices... Retail price for my trade on an invoice/dealer cost new 2015 or I'm getting a lawyer.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Yeah I'm going to get a lawyer since my car will be pretty much worthless after the repairs and I could have lost my life if this happened on the interstate...

Where in CT are you located? Care to share the location of the dealership? I'm in Middletown and I've had pretty decent luck with Tasca Ford in Berlin, but this makes me wonder.

before you get the lawyers involved, go talk with the owner of the dealership. explain to him that it was his people's incompetence that ruined your car, and that you expect him to make it right. then just be quiet and wait until he says whatever he has to say. then, depending upon if that is acceptable or not, explain to him that you will accept that or that you will go talk with your lawyer next.

depending upon his situation regarding his insurance, he may want his insurance to cover it, or he may not want his insurance to even know it happened. if he doesn't want them to know about it, he will do what it takes to make you happy without the lawyers, because if you sue him, he has to tell the insurance company.

They already have the ford insurance company involved. They were not planning on paying for it. I was planning to talk to them tomorrow to see what the plan was for the vehicle. Them fixing the vehicle will not solve the issue. Since they got the insurance involved my car will be losing a lot of value here shortly.

Good luck.

I went through diminished value process in 2014 in CT.

I am in the market for a SHO as well. I live more south than you.

My lawyer will be calling them tomorrow. I had offered them to give me the retail value for my car and give me the white '15 SHO that they had for dealer cost, they said no. Now they can deal with my lawyer.
