Well, after making our own pully puller, and play in w/ it 4 a while...we finally got the harmonic balancer off!! before i knew about this problem, i could smell somethin while i also heard the loud ticking of the pully..well the ticking was the pully hitting and scraping on some bolts that hold the timing belt cover on..and the smell was the plastic of the timing belt cover being melted from friction..so..i need a new cover now too!! where can i find one??how much$?

If you wanna pay up there about $90 each at FPN, brand new and nice and white :) .

BTW feel lucky you only lost 1, all my covers where shredded to pieces when my timing belt tensioner broke off at 70 miles and the belt tried to jump off as well, burning through the plastic in all of them.

Next time, just go to AutoZone and get the gear puller set. $15 refundable deposit, has everything needed to pull the dampener gear.

Exactly what I did except my ******* self didnt bother to look at the threads and found out too late while pulling that they were bad. So it ended up stripping my crank threads and bolt, hopefull the tap I bought from Snap-On can repair it.

For now I basically forced the bolt in with a cheater bar and got it tight till the Snap-On tap comes in and my SHO is still drivible.

In that long rant, basically my point was check those rent-a-tools before you go and use them :) .
