Just wanted to share something cool that happened to me last night in regards to my SHO. When I purchased it a few years ago the people I got it from didn't have the keyless entry code for the keypad and Ford wanted $50 to get it for me so I just said the **** with it. Last night I was looking through my factory manual and something fell out onto the ground. It was a factory plastic card with my code on it :sun: Tried it out and it worked perfectly! It was right under my nose the entire time :swing: well....actually right under my registration and a few other things in my glove box....lol

Anyhow just wanted to share cause that made my night.

Cool deal. I had to scrounge under the dash and find 3 of the 5 numbers and then guess the last two until the doors unlocked.

Good for you! I locked my keys in my twice, and I just stated mashing buttons. The funny thing is I got my door to open both times while just randomly pushing five buttons followed by the locking buttons in just a few minutes. After that I learned my code. It happened to be the first five numbers of my dad's phone number.

LOL! Was it at least your dad's car before you owned it? :munch:

That is for the Gen II cars. This is the Gen III section. The module is under the dash near the gas pedal. Usually has a piece of electrical tape over the numbers.

One of the prime causes of failure in the locks on cars is lack of manual use, due to either using the key fob or the code entry all the time. These days I only use the actual key, and have not had a lock seize up on me in a decade or so. Be sure to use it on the trunk too, not just open it with the internal opener button, and on the passenger side door as well, or they will freeze up even faster on you.

Don't have a trunk key. Have always used the key fob or release button. Also spray WD40 down the key holes in the doors to free those up. Works great.

The ignition key is the same key as the trunk key. At a guess the trunk lock is just gummed up. If you take it out and soak it in Varisol or some similar solvent, using the ignition key in it gently afterward should eventually loosen it up for you.

WD-40 is a great water displacer (that being what it was designed for) but at best as as lubricant it is very light and only OK. Once you get a lock working, you would be better off with one of the silicone based light lubricants in the locks.
