While continuing to search for my power loss problem, I ran a compression check, thinking that if I have a bad cylender, that might be the problem. Well all 6 were in the 205 - 215 range. So does this mean the valve lash and the piston rings are good and don't need to be messed with?
Thanks for the input.

It means the piston rings are creating good compression and the valves are seating well. It doesnt mean the valve lash is in spec, however.

so the only way to know if they are in spec is to dig into it and measure them? If they were out of spec, could it hinder performance substancually?

No, out of spec valves will not hinder performance substancially. The only way to check clearances is to pull the valve covers.

You would probably never notice... We are talking fractions of millimeters. People that say they notice a difference after doing the valve lash adjustment either changed their plugs and wires at the same time, or are victims of the placebo affect.

You might want to do a leak down test on the motor.
