Since the '16 Taurus is ditching the D3 platform and going with a modified Fusion platform, wouldn't it be considered a new gen? Generally speaking (no pun intended), a new chassis is usually given a new gen.

Did you mean 4.1? I'm with you on that. I don't consider the '13+ MYs a Gen 5. The changes they refer to making it a Gen 5 are not significant in the big picture. The Gen 1 Mustang is considered to be MYs '64.5 to '73. Look at the difference between the '64.5 and the '73.At the SHO Convention many of the long time SHO-AHOLICS, about all of them, consider the 13+ a Gen 5 SHO...
