How are the panels on the lower exterior of the doors removed? It's been so long I can't friggin remember!

There's several of the acorn nuts that loosen it on the bottom and the left and right edges, but how is the top portion attached? Is it like the Gen II's where you lift the piece up and off a track on the door, or are they held on with plastic clips or something where I have to use a trim popper to remove them?

Those black spears in the door trim hold the secret. They have to come off, and pop-off is the right idea. If it doesn't go well, you can replace the metal black spears with trim that comes in a roll from UAP or any of the parts places, and that will hide the new screws that you will be using.

Cool... I get it now. Any ideas as to how best remove them? Mine are in great shape (no rust) so I'd like to prevent mangling them. The thought of using a large screwdriver kinda scares me too... will they come off with the ground effect trim or do they have to come off first?

Thanks!

Take all the accorn nuts off and get a good grip on one edge and just pull it away from the door in one quick action. It helps to have another person hold the door.

Wow! And that won't break anything? LOL

I may try the "forceful, yet persistent" method :D
