Shadetree and I will be doing the same arrangement next spring. If you all want to organize something for this year, I'll pay for a spot but probably not run. If not, look for early March 2011 for the next one.

Well it is many months in the future. Shadetree also has his daughters birthday around that time so when it gets closer we will figure out a date and go from there.
But anyone else wanting to do something this winter, go for it. The office up there knows us because we have rented the track many times now.

So who is going to man up and put the deposit down if you guys want a fall run? That seems to be the issue. Shadetree had the cojones to do it last time and I have done it in the past as well...

So how does that work exactly?
I might be able to swing it but I don't want to be stuck with a 2K bill and not be able to sell the spots.

Brian, no one ever got stuck with a $2k bill. I have done the bill collecting for the pasy 4 events and we have never really lost. You'd have to contact the track for the actual rental fee and then we'd divide that over 20 cars for a full day rental or 10 cars for a half day rental.
Pretty much we get about 5 cars prepaid and rent the track and then collect the remainder depending on a full rental or half rental. Its pretty easy. My job is hair pulling, lol. Normally its $120-$130 a spot depending on the day.

How much was it last year, and how much did you guys come out of pocket (if you dont mind me asking)

Chris and I (Chris as well) lost a few bucks- but that is normal when you facilitate the rental. I paid for 2 spots and so did he- that is how we did it for the price we did with a half day rental. Not the end of the world, we forked it over for the club.

Anyone have any interest in October 30th half-day? There's another club up there that is going for 20-slots half-day with about half empty right now. If anyone is interested we could possibly piggy back with them.

Just an idea. Sounds like an easy way for people to go.

Besides, that's Halloween weekend. Too many girls running around wearing next to nothing while consuming lots of alcohol.

This man speaks the truth!

However, 20 slots for half day rental would not be too bad. I didn't think they allowed 20 cars for a half rental but with 3-4 cars on at a time for 5-7 minute intervals it would not be too bad.
