gaskets

i desperatly need to tune up my 92, i plan on doing plugs and wires, i need to new plug well gaskets and was wondering if there is a better price than the 56.97 fordpartsnetwork.com sells them for. it sucks to have to pay $114 for the six gaskets. unless i read their website wrong is there anything else i can do? i plan on changing the intake gaskets, valve cover gaskets, throttle body gasket, temperature sending unit, plugs and wires. total is $317 plus shipping. would i be better off with a complete upper gasket set? any advice would be greatly apperciated.

Torrie's got a great price break on the stock Ford part set, but the cheapest way I know of for just the plug well seals is to get the Fel-Pro kit for the "valve covers" - P/N VS50378R at autozone or Rockauto.com - it's about $85-90 depending where you go, and you get the cam cover gaskets as well as the plug well seals. If you need the intake manifold gaskets as well, my suggestion is to get the 3.2L upper gasket set from SHO Nut for $147, since the Fel-Pro intake set goes for about $50 too, and you'll get a ton of gaskets.

Absolutly, Buy the FELPRO VS50378R Valve cover gasket set. It can be had at AUTOZONE,O'Reilly, Rockauto.com, or any just about any parts store. It doesn't crossover for all engines but it fits all SHO 3.0/3.2 engines best if you just give them the part number. Runs 70-80 bucks and comes with valve cover gaskets as well. As for those intake gaskets 12 bucks at Fordpartsonline. Maybee not much more at Ford.

The Fel-Pro VS50378R set includes the two valve cover seals and the six spark plug well seals. You can get it from AutoZone.com for $71.99 (best price). The set fits all V6 SHOs as the heads are identical. For some reason, the AutoZone.com site does not list the set against all years of the SHO. You can definitely get it for a 1991 3.0L SHO under "External Engine - Valve Cover Gasket."

FordPartNetwork.com is the lowest price for plugs and wires. If your car is an ATX, the much less expensive wires for the 3.0L will fit. The two intake to head gaskets, Motorcraft E9DZ-9439-A, can be bought through FordPartsNetwork.com for $12.49+s&h each.
