Do yourself a favor take the intake apart clean everything and replace all the gaskets. Buy them from shosource.

there shouldnt be any plastic gaskets its either metal or paper. so if you think there is plastic i would tend to think you are looking at paper ones that are SO old and crusty that they need to be replaced.:salute:

yep, when i popped the snake off it just kinda popped off with it. 3 peices. i guess 50$ is not bad for all new gaskets.

Or that they are the metal one that are plastic coated.

They are rubber, and not called intake gaskets which I see has caused some confusion in this thread. I think what you're looking for are the intake couplers. I've torn quite a few as well. Buy new ones, best thing I did to my intake was buy the SHOSource silicone ones and new clamps, oh and not making a "cold air intake" ;)
If the intake manifold gaskets (two flat metal ones) have any chips then you should buy new ones as well, in my opinion. It will be easy to tell, the black has flaked off and you can see silver, bare metal.

Ahh, you mean the primary runner and secondary gaskets? You'll need 6 total, unless you didn't break all of them. You're going to have to buy all of them anyway so might as well replace them all, obviously. They're easy to break being paper, not surprised there.

By "cold air intake" I meant putting a cone filter in the engine bay.

All kinds of confusion goin on here, I was confused myself!

You've now said no to every gasket there is on the intake. I'm tired of this ridiculous word play...

To reiterate again, either way just replace them. You'll have to purchase them as a pack so you might as well do them all.
