Well I knew this day would come eventually. Car is at the shop doing a full fluid replacement and the tech had the front right wheel off and noticed an issue with the turbo/waste gate. He said that the right-side assembly arm was hanging and that I need to replace the turbo. Does this sound familiar? Also, should I just go ahead and have both turbos replaced? Just turned 116K. Want to get some feedback before I tell them to go ahead with the work. Thanks!

Also, there is no check engine light on and car seemed to drive just fine so I don't get it. I haven't been beating the car but do drive fast so I was kind of surprised when it said the assembly arm was hanging and the waste gate was moving freely

It depends. If the E-clip came off (red arrow), just reattach the linkage and replace the E-clip. Most likely. If the wastegate arm broke off (blue arrow), replace the turbo. Most unlikely. Make sure the wastegate arm moves freely. If not replace the turbo.

Awesome thank you. I have used this shop forever and trust them, but I will definitely verify!

It was definitely the blue arrow which sucks. I'm surprised more wasn't damaged because looking back, I don't remember hearing the huge woosh of excess pressure under the hood as I have mine vented to the atmosphere for at least a week or so! It will nice to have some ponies back

I am very surprised no CEL came up for that. I get boost problem codes pretty quick if they arise.

I have a tune from Ortiz. Would that negate any dummy lights from coming up?

I do not believe so, I have a GH tune and still get check engine light and codes when things pop up. I think the only thing anyone mentions wanting or wishing to have "tuned out" from setting a light would be the down stream o2 sensors. I know thats getting harder to have happen with the stricter rules on tuning for street use.
