I checked my fuses today to and I saw that fuse #10 is blown. Took out the old fuse and tried to put in a new one but it starts to spark as I'm trying to do this. It controls my high beams, indicator lamp and flash-to-pass. What is my indicator lamp and flash-to-pass? Why is it shorting out?

Ok...I did some more analysis and the high beams do work but the high beam indicators don't. The auto dimmers work also. But the issue I'm trying to fix is my turn signals. They don't work but i don't think that has something to do with it. Can someone please help me!

But fuse doesn't control the turn signal. I also did check the switch but i came up with nothing.

For electrical system assistance, you need to clearly identify your car.

There are several variations depending on year, transmission, and option content.

It sounds like you're used to working on older cars with a single wiring diagram... No such luck here. Ford published an entire inch-thick book of 'em for each year of production. The electrical systems in these cars are fairly complicated.

It's called the EVTM - Electrical & Vacuum Troubleshooting Manual (it's ~95% wiring diagrams, ~1% vacuum diagrams and 4% explanation).

If you're looking for a specific part of the electrical system (i.e. charging system, stereo wiring, etc.), I'm sure someone can scan in the page you're looking for, but there are slight differences for each year (89-90-91), so it'd be best if you specify what year you're looking for as well.

Just shoot me your year and what your after. I have 101 gigs of service manuals for every car up to 2008.

I have an '89 SHO. I'm looking for the diagram from the fuse box to whatever it's tied to. I'm actually trying to troubleshoot why fuse #10 is continuosly blowing, i'm sorry to double post.

Does it have a DRL module?

you mentioned flash to pass... but you are also in the states so I'm not sure.
If your car is equipped with a DRL module it will be in the front left wheel well behind the front of the splashguard. IIRC its mounted on or beside the charcoal canister.

If a module can be found, unplug it. The modules fill with water and cause all sorts of weird problems. If there is no module, then there will be a bypass plug (its kinda like a jumper) plugged into the harness. You need either the module or the bypass plug for the ebrake indicator & highbeam indicators to function

What's funny is that the high beam indicator light does come on when I put the high beams on...I checked yesterday. So it boils down to that module huh? I'll check for this and post back.

TwistedMunkey! Where's that diagram? lol

According to the 89 EVTM:

DRL was not offered on the 89.

F10 goes ONLY to the MFS (DB/O wire) and is only used for FTP.

what is flash to pass?

Pull the multi-function switch towards you and it turns on the highbeams with the lights on or off but doesn't leave them on. Lets other drivers know they can go around you, tell a semi when hes passed you and can merge in front of you, or when the cops are down the road....
