I'm afraid to go on a long trip without a conventional spare. What are the options?
Small floor jack suggestions would also be welcome.
TIA.

"Close Enough" is not good enough for me. I want a spare with a near identical circumference as the four wheels on the car.Just get an 18" wheel from a 13-19 Police Interceptor Sedan or Utility. It's a direct fit for standard SHO brakes and the diameter is almost identical to the 20" SHO tire.
I was under the same rotation was necessary to avoid drive train damage. I get its not far off. Just asking is all. And thanks for the thought about the clearance of brakes and some aftermarket spare.Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus

Not going to get much closer than that.
TNX for that explanationThe tiny bit of difference in size is compensated by the front and rear differentials.
Plus, we're talking about a spare which is not going to be on the car for thousands of miles.
So with this jack in the trunk one can only also add two dead bodies instead of three? Asking for a friend.low profile, light and the handle of course comes off, but it does eat some room.
The two tire and wheel assemblies are virtually identical in size. Both wheels are 8 inches wide. To maintain the correct rev per mile you should use the tire size listed previously.Another factor to think of is the 20" wont fit in the tire well and from my understanding the 18" PI wheel is narrower so as long as you use a narrow tire it should fit in the tire well with enough room for a scissor jack under it. Id say for a spare you cant go wrong with a PI wheel since they came on Taurus and Explorer you can find one easy and for far less than an aluminum wheel of any kind. like @Texas Marauder said, a small difference in rotation wont hurt especially if its only for a short time.
That and weight savings. The steel PI wheel and tire weigh @ 65 lbs.So why wasn't an 18" spare included with the SHO? Cost saving
depending on height and how creative you are with a bat you could still manage 3. Tell your friend I said "Eyyy"So with this jack in the trunk one can only also add two dead bodies instead of three? Asking for a friend.
I was misinformed, I was told the PI wheel was narrower so that it could fit in the well, my 20" flower doesnt fit in the well. The two tire and wheel assemblies are virtually identical in size. Two dead bodies and a ******....So with this jack in the trunk one can only also add two dead bodies instead of three? Asking for a friend.
Thats not much of a difference and in reality the tires are never truly to spec and different wear along the corners is more different than this. Its either the left or right on the front that wears faster anyway because of the torque and weight. The 18 inch rim is perfect but im sure the person who wants a full size spare wants the same exact rim to match. I just had to use my little scissor jack yesterday. They work very well imo if the road is flat i guess. I just drove to the closest tire shop when i heard the bolt clacking with every rotation. Popped the wheel off in the parking lot and rolled it in to be patched.Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus
