my fuel pump has finally gone out, atleast i think that's what it is, it took forever to start, and when it was running, you can hear a whine from the rear of the car...i got off work tonight at 8pm and it would not start...my question to anyone is can I use the same fuel pump from a regular 1995 taurus or would i have to only use one for a SHO...thanks in advance

the whine from the fuel pump when the car is running is normal. The key is to check the fuel pressure when the key is turned. You need 30 to 40 psi. Anything lower is a sign your fuel pump is heading south. When the car is running, you should get 40 psi. If the car is chugging and sputtering at idle, chances are if your fuel pump is bad you will only get 10 or 15 psi at the rail.

Crank Position Sensor could be the electrical part of your no start condition. What is the tach reading when you are cranking it over during your no start condition?

SHO pump only.

What about all those rumors that some late model second-gen ATX's got SLO pumps put in at the factory? All the hook-ups should be the same, but the pump is just lower capacity?
