fuel pump replacement parts questions

I'm about to replace the original fuel pump on my '90, and sdpatt and others have suggested I should get two other parts: a new sending unit gasket and a new return line check valve. The gasket is easy, but for the check valve, what do I ask for? One parts guy said the valve wasn't available separately, while another said it can be ordered in different sizes. Can anyone give me a part number or anything else to help me get the right thing?

I was looking through a box of spare parts today and found the old fuel return line check valve that I replaced back in 1996. It comes separately as "Valve, Fuel Sen..." (Sender? the rest was truncated) part number F3LY-9H318-A. It also had "Check Valve TJ" on the small, blue box. It has a 5/16" inside diameter or about 7.5mm.The check valve for my 1991 was an orangish-red color. It looks like it should be a $2 part at most, but we know how proud Ford is of this little duck call.

There are 2 diff. sizes. I'm sure Scott's sizing is right. Depending on dealer markup you're looking at $4-8. I've had to assist finding the part in person because they have a hard time finding it and make up answers. If you get to the dealer and they can't find it- go the fuel sender diagram and enlarge it at least twice to get a good look at it & the part #. If you run a search here I think Scott posted a picture of it once.

ps- you might want to have a few extra plastic clips around and if they're corroded new nuts&bolts
