I started my '92 as usual - no drama ran fine - drove it out of the garage switched it OFF and it has not run since, BUT will run immediately on starting fluid. Fuel spurts out of the fuel rail Shraeder valve rail but will not fire. I replaced the fuel pump with no change (so that was a waste of time) ie the same result. This is my third SHO, and they all have been so reliable I am at a loss as to what the cause may be - any insight/suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks, Retrogreg

My fans does the same thing when I turn the key during first start. When I restart a warm car, it's fine. From what I have read, it's either bad ground or ECU has an issue. Is the fuel spray strong when you press the schraeder valve, sprays straight up

A strong spray whic touches the underside of its opened hood is confirmed, Greg

I am thinking something is preventing the injectors from adding enough gas to start it. Do you have an spare ECU you could swap in. I imagine there is a test to see if the injectors are working

You are getting fuel at the rails, and there doesn't seem anything wrong with the spark pugs as it starts with starter fluid. It might be that the injectors aren't opening, as mentioned. Could it be clogged injectors? It would be unusual for all of them to be stuck.
