I pulled up a bunch of the threads that I searched this problem and they were helpful except for my issue. The window will go down from the door switch and the drivers side, it will not go up. So I pulled the motor out and swapped it with the rear drivers side (same configuration) this motor I know goes up and down. Same problem, this motor only turns one way. So I took the switches apart, replaced them with other switched I know work....still same problem. Close visual inspection doesnt reveal any obvious issues with frayed wires etc. Tested wires from switch plate to motor and they are good. So why wont the window go up?

Did you just replace the driver's side switch? The current for the motor goes through the passenger side switch as well, even when you use the driver side switch.

I only swapped the passenger side switch. I didnt fiddle with the drivers side module at all. I checked the motor from the front pass (looked pretty new actually, like the pictures of the ones you repacked with grease...) and plugged it in the read drivers slot - it worked both ways. I removed the rear pass switch and used it in the front pass door, still only one way. I also used another switch from the extra switch panel I have. Both motors and all 3 switches only result in motor turning one way, yet both motors and all 3 switches work fine when in the rear door.

Not to sound snippy, but why rebuild switches that work in other locations?

The passenger side switch will only work if the drivers side switch is operational (I think...). You didn't indicate that the window could be rolled up from the drivers side so if you rebuild that switch, they might both start working.

Yeah, the window switches are kind of a weird design; the current for all four windows goes through the driver's switches; if either the passenger's switch or the driver's switch are messed up in any way, it won't work.

That being said, the way the motor works is that the current path is simply reversed for "up" operation. There are separate contacts on the switch for it, but if the motor works going one way, it works going both ways. It's definitely in your switches.

fifth circle of ****
really odd for the pass window since the wires go straight to the motor. try hooking a 12V power source to the contacts and see if it works.
