On the way back from the drag strip the transmssion siezed up!! :snicker:

Lack of lubrication made the thing sieze up in 4th and 5th gear. You cant get it in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. When FPS installed my welded diff they didnt seal up the two case halves to well so it slowely leaked and leaked and now this.
Time for a quaife.

how much did you spend on that trans though? you could have bought a pre quaifed trans for 1500 tops and sold the FPS trans for at least 3-400. Now it's worth its weight in scrap and usable parts...

Not to start drama but isn't that the tranny Doug ripped you off on? Didn't you pay over 1K for him to just weld your diff and now N/A it blew up?

Well, yes Zooyoost, I too thought that was the case. But I gotta assume it could've likely been prevented if fluids were maintained, just wondering why you'd let it go instead of keeping fluids maintained. I like not wasting money.

HAHAHAHAHA.

But really, why do you think it's seized? Pull it out and take it apart.

I will take it out this week and see what exactly happened. But I paid Doug 500$ to weld it, and I paid 350 for the trans. So 850. Im happy with it but I can still sell the diff. I got under the car this morning and fluid poured out of a axle seal. So im thinking I overfilled it to the point it blew out a axle seal and then ran the trans dry.

It won't blow out an axle seal from being too full. The fluid isn't under pressure.

Good luck selling a questionable diff from a broken trans.

technically no, but if he found a way to really fill it full when the fluid began to heat up and expand it could have caused some wonky stuff to happen.

Im not sure exactly were its coming out. I will post up pics of the carnage when the trans is out. Either way the fluid poured out somewhere cause the whole undercarriage is covered in trans fluid. Maybe I cracked the case shifting really hard. IDK. Will find out soon enough.
