It looks like I do have a front mount camera but when I enable CA it doesn't work. What other items are needed to make this function work. Non PP 2015

If you mean that you didn't have the collision avoidance to begin with as an option when the car was new, well, you need a bit more hardware that you don't have. The front radar stuff being the first thing I can think of.

yep, collision avoidance and adaptive cruise both require additional hardware.

My favorite part of collision avoidance in my SHO is when i'm heading into a turn at night and it flashes that bright red bar across the windshield so that I can no longer see the turn that I am heading into.... yeah, not a fan of that....

I have that camera too. Always wondered what it was for. Don’t have collision avoidance etc. wonder if we can make it into a dash cam?? Anyone reverse engineer this thing yet??

Part of the auto headlights and maybe the auto wipers. I dont think its a camera, just a radar. There is an addon you can buy to plug into the rear of your sync to enable the right up and down switch on steering wheel to let the monitor show real time rear camera or let av stay on in drive. Called lockpic

I like it when guy right in front of you turns a hard left or right ( no signal) then all the red lights light up and I crap my pants. all is good otherwise - be safe everybody and social distance and wash your hands - lots !! pray for everybody in New York .

Auto headlights and lane-keeping use the camera at least, not sure about the wipers.

You can't just "turn on" some things (like collision avoidance). You need equipment that is not installed on the car. Collision avoidance and adaptive cruise use a radar unit that is mounted under the bumper cover. If you don't have those features, you don't have the radar.

Lane keeping aid does use the IPMA (the IPMA is the interior rear view mirror). BUT the ipma that is used for lane keeping and auto high beams are different I believe. The auto high beams appears to be a photoelectric sensor. The lane keeping camera seems to be an actual camera. One cant do what the other does. And whennits called a camera, I cant garuntee it's a conventional camera that one uses to take pictures or what not.

The IPMA watches the lane markings to see of the car is out of its lane. On early systems the car almost has to be in the next lane to do anything it seems like.

The auto wipers use a separate rain sensor attached to the windshield and is not the interior rear view mirror camera.

Collision avoidance uses the Cruise Control Module (a radar unit in the bumper area) to find a target and see how fast you are approaching it. If it thinks a collision is eminent it will flash the HUD leds and possibly activate the brakes.
