Has anyone actually done the Ford 'approved' cam rework with the Loctite? Are there any known failures of cams that have had that rework?

Really iffy. There was some info on the other forum about that, but why go thru all the trouble doing that when you can weld them while you are there. That way was basically "band aid-ing" the problem, while the weld is "surgically" fixing the problem. Just weld it.

I would only use Loc Tite, Mighty Puddy, or JB Weld if someone had a gun to my head.

Do it correctly, weld it.

Brian, watch the commercial, mighty putty can be used for automotive repairs. And it has the strength to pull a fully loaded 80,000lb trailer.

If you call now, you can get 6 sticks for 19.99 if you "order now"

If you call within 30 seconds, they'll send you a copy of "2girls1cup" on DVD - it's about as useful as mighty putty!

Seriously, Pop. Mech did an expose on the "as seen on TV" stuff and their verdict on it was "useful for making coffee cup handles. Anything else, not so much...". And then they said "Just buy another damn mug, you cheap bastard."

The question was, have any with the Loctite failed?

Using loc-tite to fix the cam gears on their shafts is almost the dictionary definition of "Mickey Mouse" engineering. I'm sure it'll work... for a little while.

Well it is special Loctite for bonding shafts to gears and not the usual thread locking crap.....
