flywheel dowels

is there any way to remove them? i heated the flywheel and tried to pull the dowels out but it didnt work. i didnt realize there was two different dowel patterns on the fidanza flywheel

Check with a NAPA auto parts that has a flywheel lathe. The shop that resurfaced my flywheel also had a tool specifically designed to remove the dowels.

You can also cut them with a Dremel. Fidanza sent mine with six dowls inserted. I cut the wrong ones off flush and installed it. I then got to do the clutch service a second time (start to finish) because the correct dowls were not seated fully. This warped the flywheel when the pp was torqued down. Those were cut shorter, but it seems damage has been done and now I'm looking at doing the clutch service a third time. I'm not happy about this.

See if AZ will remove them for you as Scott suggested.

Be careful. Make sure it is right before you reassemble the car.
