Ok guys, i finished my 3.2 and now i beleive i have a blown fusable link somewhere.

1) How do i know what a blown fusable link looks like?
2) The headlights and courtesy lights are the only lights that work. interior lights dont work, dash lights dont work, Brake lights dont work, parking lights dont work, turn signals dont work, ...i got headlights...
Which fusable link could it be?
3) I got the alternator to start charging by replacing the output wire from the alternator straight to the battery. 6guage wire. Now it charges, but the alternator charge lights is on in the instrument cluster. The idiot lights seem to work....but the dash lights do not. As soon as i turn on the parking lamps the number $ fuse pops ( i beleive it is number 4....the top left one (light blue)).

This all happened when i jumped the car wrong ( i had the cable on backwards....) im glad the 90 sho i used to jump it didnt get damaged. But my 89 3.2 quaifed, clutchmaster stage oned is now not driveable.... The key wont start the car....to start the car, i have to go outside and manually "jump" the start wires with a screwdriver....then it starts and runs like a mean *******,......but i got no lights.....i feel so stupid....i didnt even get to drive the car yet.

Any encouraging words or advice?

Try looking at the starter relay. It's a slight possibility. the lights and such are all on fuses under the dash. Try replacing ALL the fuses under there with the proper size new ones. First start with the 2 blade fuses in the fuse panel. Then move onto the silver, odd shaped ones. Try testing the resistance on them before replacing them. Remove the alternator and take it into an auto parts store to test it to see if it's working properly. Get a voltmeter and some wiring diagrams and have at the wiring harness! Good luck with this and I hope this helps slightly!
