The pressure plate bolts that came with the Fidanza flywheel are way too short. They don't even clear the pressure plate. Are the stock bolts okay too use, or are they too long for the Fidanza? I wonder if they are bottoming out before proper clamp load can be applied. Torquing at the second stage caused the torque wrench to 'click' almost immediately. Otherwise I do get a tight fit now that the dowls have been cut back(they were sticking out too far).

Being cautious because I don't want to have to tear the car down a third time.

The same happened to me, I just used the new bolts that came with my clutch kit instead and they worked fine. Just make sure the PP is seated properly all the way around the flywheel and use loctite on all the bolts.
