I'm getting a fault code 59 - low speed fuel pump circuit open (battery to ECA).

Can someone explain what this means (and what ECA stands for)? The fuel pump is only about two years old.

Also when I am in neutral or even between gears, the engine will rev to higher RPMs without me pressing on the throttle and then come back down to the normal idle RPM?

Can someone explain why this is happening and what it means?

Are the two related?

Thanks.

I don't think they are related.

the idle issue sounds like a sticking iac - I'd clean or replace that.

I'm not expert on gen1 fuel pumps.

Where can I buy an IAC? It's been a LONG time since I've replaced it. It's a bit*h to remove with the intake manifold in place because of the location of the bolts.

Shouldn't a bad IAC throw a code? Ahhh ... screw it .. I'll just replace it anyway. A sticking IAC makes sense.

Thanks
