Big G here ,I have a 2010 SHO, my fans are not always cutting on causing the temp. to rise and I have to pull over and let it come down. Then other times it will come on while I'm just sitting. Went a week with no issue, then started again today. Anyone have this issue or know what the issue could be.
Also I know they run hot but where are we at with normal operating temperature. I'm around 210 normally.
Thanks..

I checked power to the relay, 12.4v, and power on the signal is3.54v when the fans are off. When I step up the signal on my diag the voltage drops about 0.5v per 10% signal. Any signal above 90% and the fans cut out (max signal is 93.99%). I've replaced the cylinder head temp sensor and the fan relay, twice, with the same result. I'm getting power, my ground seems good. Why would I be losing signal at max?

Perform the KOEO and KOER tests. If there are no DTCs the system is working correctly. Listen for the fans while performing the tests. It's possible that the fan motors are going bad. Not being able to run the fans at 100% is not necessarily a problem.

The problem is that the plc outputs a max signal and shuts off the fans, causing the car the overheat. What is the KOEO and KOER?

I ran the tests, and when running the cooling fans did turn on during the test, but then turned right back off after. What temp are they supposed to come on at?

So update. I did get it working again (so far anyways), and it looks like it was the cheap Chinese fan controller was the problem. I wasn't getting anywhere with it, so I took apart the original and one of the cheap ones to see what difference there was. It is definitely a case of you get what you pay for in this instance. The components looked very flimsy, the capacitors (plural in this case, versus one on the original) were smaller each, and the circuit board was not only larger, but you could tell the components were inferior. I ended up getting the Gates FCM128 control module, and so far it is working great. My a/c even feels colder.
Now I know everyone will probably roll their eyes and say "duh, you never use cheap parts", but lets be real here guys; I've used plenty of Chinese parts that have worked fine over the years, (most of the parts are produced there anyways, whether you want to believe it or not), but in this case, don't skimp when it comes to electronics. This will be a lesson learned for me; sometimes you have to pay for quality.

This vehicle is an electric pig and unfortunately requires the best parts. The difference I have seen even though the parts is made in China or wherever is the vendor specs. That is where OEM more times that not dominates the knock off companies. Just my humble opinion reading these threads.
