A few weeks ago I posted a request for info on cat back replacement for my 90 SHO. I got a couple of responses (Thanks!) recommending Dynomax from Summitt Racing. I passed this on to my mechanic ...who has gotten back to me with this: "We have called summit and Jeg's. We also called flowmaster direct. They have listings for sho from 1992 but nothing for 1990. No one seems to know if the 1992 will fit the 1990." Does anyone here have any more definitive information?

It'll fit a Gen1, but the exhaust tips might be a different story. Gen 1 & 2 SHO differences are literally cosmetic changes. Gen 1 rear bumpers are lower (a taller bumper) than gen 2 bumpers, which tuck the exhaust away a bit more. I'm not completely sure whether or not you need to mod the tips to fit, though. Downpipes look better on gen1s anyways, IMO.

Get the gen II Dynomax Catback for the MTX...cost is 249.00 + shipping from summit....yes it will fit...and it has a pipe bent for the rod shifter if you have one or someday will install one.

The tips will fit and will make it look like the gen II, watch out for those steep driveways.
