It seems to be blowing nothing but warm air now no matter how long it's been on. I've never had to have it done before so how much does a recharge usually cost?

Thanks

If all it needs is charging, you can DIY for about $30. Expect to pay closer to $60 for someone to do it for you.

It depends on the year. If it uses R12, you cannot buy the refrigerant unless you are a licensed HVAC technician. And, it is extremely expensive. If it's R134a, you can walk into any parts store, or WalMart, and buy it for about $5 per 12 oz.

I would make sure that you need a recharge first you can buy a can of r34a with a gage for about $12 this my be a good idea. you may just need to adjust the ac clutch.

If it's R12 you can get a kit to change it over. Although you're technically supposed to vacuum out the old stuff in an approved system...

I just had my new (1992) van done, they charged $33 for the kit and $64 to do all the work and R134.

It's weird that the Germans freak out about a drop of fuel on the ground or in the woods, but are pretty lax on a/c, factory smoke stacks, and other air pollution....

That's why their roads are safe, its clean and everyone follows the rules. If you follow the rules, you won't have the Polizei around. No Polizei, u can go real fast on the Autobahn :) ....
