The idle on my sho has become eratic. Occasionaly it will miss and the rmp will drop for a second. When accelerating i notice a loss of power, it is overall running a lot rougher. I tried to remedy it by swapping the sparkplugs for new bosch platinums. It runs better with these but it still misses. I am thinking of replacing the leads next.. will faulty leads cause an intermittent loss of power? I am also getting a code 214 (M) Error in Cylinder ID (CID) circuit or signal. Will this have anything to do with an eratic idle?
Any other things i should be checking?

try cleaning your IAB valve. i wouldnt be using the bosch platinums though, there are more horror stories than success stories out there as far as the SHOs are concerned. if you didnt replace your plug wires you really should, they can make a world of difference. im not too sure about the cylinder ID circuit, but it could definately be your problem i would think. hopefully someone else knows more about that one. let us know how it turns out!

What are the horror stories? I made sure i had them gapped to the right size. Everything seems to be running ok.

well, just alot of stories on the forum about how they foul after 30k miles or even sooner, were they double platinum? or just a platinum electrode (core)? because SHO plugs have platinum cathodes and anodes. i mean you may not have any problems, but ive just read alot of posts that said they pulled non-ford plugs, 10, 20, 30k down the road to find them fouled and messed up.

Sounds like, based on your codes, that your Camshaft Position Sensor is bad. Does the car occasionally take a long time to start? Also, check your chip. A chip that is slightly dislodged will provide these same symptoms.

Start with the basics try resetting the idle and throwing some injector cleaner in it, you may get lucky.
