so my rebuilt trans isnt right from the headache trans shop.. i did the R&R they did the rebuild.

they drove it and said its the EPC,car sat for 2 weeks and no work was done. so i went and put a line gauge on it. 0 line pressure so they tell me. its for sure the EPC. well after they lost my key i went and trailered the car because i was tired of it sitting.so they gave me the parts to fix it.

i haven't checked the ohms yet but im going to before i pull it apart..

could the EPC cause 0 line pressure? i do have a whole other trans that i could take parts from(case is broken).

Maybe, but it could be a number of other things too.

Seems like trying to save a few bucks by doing the R&R yourself is paying you back in spades... :frown:

Did they change the torque converter? Drain the converter for an hour or so. Make sure that most of the fluid is out. Look down inside and you will see several sets of splines. The inner most spline is small. Just under the size of a dime. Are the splines good? I have seen Tauri spin the torque converter.

While you have the side cover off. Pull the pump cover and make sure all looks ok in there. With no line pressure, you have three things.

#1 Filter in the pan. Not hooked up. Hope you checked that first.
#2 Torque Converter spun.
#3 Pump broken.

That is it. You can leave the EPC unplugged and it will still work. It will be full line, but the car will engage and move.

Sorry, you are not fixed yet.

Edit: I just read that you have a core. Once the converter is drained, pull the pump shaft from the core transmission, ( the small shaft that sticks out of the stator, it matches the size of the small spline ) and insert it into the torque converter. See if it will spin in the spline, or hold strong.

well once the epc was changed it did help a ton..

now i get slipping in reverse and drive is ok with a hard 1-2 shift..

they thing its still the epc and that it got more crap in it..

they gave me a whole new vb but not a sho version, and i took both pump covers off and couldn't see anything different.

haven't got to the point of pulling it back out yet so im not checking the tq just yet.. it was a reman tq converter.
