I just got an engine off of eBay, so now I have it sitting out of the car. I don't have large sums of money (and I don't want to **** the fiancee off too much :). This is what I have on the list right now. My main goals are: 1. to replace the 60K and other important items before I install the engine, and 2. to replace wear parts in generally.

This is what I have on the list right now:

Timing Belt
89-93 Alternator/AC belt JK6-450
Water pump PW-272
O2 Sensor DY-606
Upper Rad hose KM-3084
Lower Rad hose KM-3086
Thermostat RT 1112
Gauge Temperature Sending Unit SW 2328
Timing chains
Upper gasket set LESS head gaskets, for 60K for ATX or MTX
Front crank seal
Crank position sensor DY-910
Cam position sensor DU-47
Tranny refresh, seals and blocking rings

Am I missing anything?

So let me get this right, you got an engine off e-bay that you are going to intall, correct???

If so, here are some other things to replace:

-Spark Plug Wires
-Spark Plugs
-Cam seals
-Knock Sensor
-Engine Coolant Temp. Sensor
-Get in on the group buy for the Timing chain tensioners
-Check all the valve shim clearances/surfaces and replace as necessary
-Motor mounts and Subframe bushings
-Timing belt tensioner

Why are you replacing the timing chains???

There may be some other things, but that is all that I can think of.

I would replace the timeing chains. There only around $80 or so for the pair and they do strech over time. The chains on my old 3.0 had streched over 1/2 a link.

Always ruining my fun! :D

How do I measure whether they have stretched or not?
